| Supervision and help |
If any player is unsure what to bid I am available to suggest what to do and why. I try to let players solve most of the problems themselves unless the hand is a very difficult one. I also sometimes suggest a line of play, usually in the form of a warning (e.g. to draw trumps to avoid the fate of the gentleman who spent the night on the embankment after having his winners ruffed). As the players gain confidence they rely less on me and more on their own judgement. We try to limit post-mortems unless there is an important point to be made. |
