BOOK 2: DOUBLE SQUEEZES

SYNOPSIS:

This is the second book in a series on Bridge Squeezes.  It covers the positions where both defenders are each squeezed in two suits.  It also covers secondary double squeezes and squeezes where there is a clash threat.   The author has made extensive research into these positions and this book covers several which have not been previously described.  Many of the examples, mostly in the more complex positions, were composed by Tim Bourke and sent to the author for inclusion in the book.  He also had significant input in correcting several errors in the early drafts.

The chapters are:

  1. The basic positions of the double squeeze;  7 positions

  2. Reciprocal squeezes;  5 positions

  3. Other primary double squeezes;  3 positions

  4. Primary double clash squeezes; 14 positions

  5. Primary hexagon clash squeezes; 6 positions

  6. Double clash guard hybrids; 2 positions.  This chapter includes original research into these positions which have not been previously identified.

  7. Progressive double squeezes; 4 positions

  8. Secondary hexagon clash guard squeezes; 6 positions.  This chapter also contains original research into these positions.

  9. Clash vice squeezes; 3 positions

  10. Secondary double squeezes; 19 positions.  These are the double squeezes where both opponents stop only two suits; those where one opponent stops three and the other two or three are discussed in "Compound Squeezes" and "Guard Squeezes"
